TONY ANENIH: WE HAVE LOST A POLITICAL COLOSSUS— OBOREVWORI

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has commiserated with family members, the government and people of Edo State on the demise of former Minister of Works, Chief Tony Anenih.

In a Press Statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Dennis Otu, in Asaba, the Speaker, expressed sadness over the death of the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

According to the statement; ” I am pained by the demise of our elder statesman, Chief Tony Anenih, who died at the age of 85 years. He was a dedicated patriot, he meant well for the nation and the people. He made significant contributions to the growth and progress of our country. We cannot forget in a hurry the enviable role he played in influencing the dualisation of the Benin/Asaba road, Benin/ Warri Road and the Benin bypass road.”

“He was a gifted leader hence many referred to him as “Mr Fix It”. He was a Bridge Builder and a great Mobilizer. We have lost a Political Colossus. We are surely going to miss him. May his soul find eternal repose in the bosom of the Almighty God”, the Speaker said.
