The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has promised to sustain the sponsorship of the annual Democratic Movement For Sheriff Draught Competition (DMS).
Speaking at the end of the competition in Orerokpe, Rt Hon Oborevwori said in line with the prosperity agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, he will continue to sponsor the competition to impact positively on the people of Okpe Kingdom.
The Speaker who was represented at the ceremony by his Special Assistant, Mr Freeborn Eghagha, implored the people of Okpe to embrace the competition, saying he was committed to its sponsorship.
At the end of the competition, Mr Sergeant Ikolo, from Orerokpe smiled home with the first prize, Agborie Mejere, from Osubi, settled for second prize, Steven Emujeyan, from Orerokpe, carted home the third prize while Steven Agolo, last year winner, from Umieghwa, won the fourth prize.
The Competition is organised yearly by DMS and sponsored by Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
This year’s Competition started December 19, 2017 with preliminaries.Sixteen contestants across Okpe Local Government Area registered for the competition.
