A Bill for a law to regulate the Financial Management of Delta State Government has been forwarded to the State House of Assembly by the State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa.
The letter from the Governor on the Bill was read at plenary session on Tuesday by the Speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
According to the letter; “The Honourable Speaker and members may wish to be informed the House of the need to, in line with current global practice, put in place a legal framework to regulate all financial management practices of Delta State Government”.
“Accordingly, I write to forward for necessary Legislative action by the House, a draft Bill for a Law to Regulate the Financial Management of Delta State Government”, he Governor wrote and implored the House to give the Bill expeditious consideration and passage into Law.
