*** Gives Governor Okowa Kudos For Support
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated Team Delta for coming victorious at the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival in Benin City.
Team Delta won the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival with a total of 384 Medals which include 158 Gold Medals, while the host state, Edo came second with 129 gold medals and a total of 341 medals.
In a Press Statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Dennis Otu, on Thursday, the elated Speaker said that Team Delta has done the state proud, saying that the victory of the Team affirmed the place of Delta State in sports in the country and gave the state Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa kudos for the victory.
According to the Speaker; ” I am so elated that Team Delta emerged the winner of the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival in Benin City. Team Delta has made us proud again. We are a praying and a winning state and I want to congratulate Team Delta for emerging victorious”.
“Team Delta went very prepared for the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival in Benin City and today I am not surprised about their performance in the National Sports Festival in Benin. The victory of Team Delta is as a result of the support and encouragement being given by our sports-loving Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to sport development and sportsmen and women in the state. We are proud of our Governor”, the Speaker said.
The Speaker added that; “Delta state is coming home with the trophy for the 3rd consecutive times. Team Delta started the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival on a good note and ended it in praise and we give the glory to Almighty God and our Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his total support”.
