The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has urged members of the House to put hands on deck to ensure effective delivery of electoral promises to the people of Delta State.
In his welcome address at the resumption of plenary on Tuesday, the Speaker congratulated members on the successful inauguration of the Seventh Assembly.
While saying that their assignments have begun earnestly, the Speaker said that; “I urge all of us to put all hands on deck so that we can effectively deliver our electoral promises to the good people of our dear State. As a subtle reminder, our duties are law making, good representation and oversighting of the other arms of government. I therefore appeal to you to be regular at plenary and committee sittings. And above all, I crave your unwavering support for the leadership of the House”.
The Speaker solicited for the support and understanding of Management and Staff of the Assembly, saying; “We need your cooperation more than ever before in the tasks ahead”.
