The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has expressed sadness over the sudden demise of the Commissioner representing Sapele, Ethiope West and Okpe Local Government Areas on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission  (DESOPADEC), Hon.  Joyce Overah. 

In a Press Statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Dennis Otu, on Thursday, the Speaker commiserated with the people of Sapele Local Government Area and Elume community, over the death of the chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party  ( PDP ).

He described  the former member of the House of Representatives and Commissioner  for Science and Technology from 2015 to 2019 as a grassroots politician and a fine gentle man, saying his passing away is very painful. 

According to the Speaker; ” I am saddened by the demise of a complete gentle man and a good politician. It was indeed a black Tuesday for the people of Okpe Kingdom when one of our own departed to the great beyond. We are going to miss him greatly”.

” It is really hard to believe that he has departed from this world at a time when his services and wealth of experience were needed more. He served his people in particular and Deltans in general diligently and I must say that his death is a big blow to all of us”, he said. 

The Speaker  prayed God to accept the deceased’s soul and grant fortitude to the family and friends he left to bear the irreparable loss.
