The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has commended management and staff for their support to the leadership of the House.

At a meeting with management and staff of the Assembly on Tuesday, the Speaker said that he was impressed with their level of support and cooperation in the last four years and urged them to sustain the tempo for the overall interest of all and sundry.

“I really want to thank all of you for the support that you have been giving to the leadership of the House. There has been no crisis in the last four years and this is very commendable. The PASAN issue was a nationwide strike. You people are doing very well, but there is room for improvement”, he said.

According to him also; “Let us double our efforts and improve on our services. Let us engage in dialogue at all times, do not be confrontational and I am so glad that we have been following the path of dialogue. We will continue with our training and re-training to deepen our knowledge. Our staff should always respect constituted authorities”.

The Speaker described the financial autonomy to the House of Assembly in the State as a welcome development and revealed that the Board of the commission would soon be put in place.

“Anything that is doable, we will do it. Training and re-training is very important. Working tools are going to be provided, we will try our best in this regard. Staff week to be done next year and we are planning Christmas party for staff. We have done very well in the sixth and seventh Assembly and we will continue to do our best”, the Speaker said.

Those who spoke, including the Chairman of PASAN, Comrade Emmanuel Edozie lauded the Speaker for his tireless efforts in the welfare of the staff of the State House of Assembly.
