To ensure the health safety of its workforce and visitors alike, the leadership and management of the Delta State House of Assembly headed by the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori (JP), FICMC have put in place precautionary measures to forestall either the outbreak or the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus within the Assembly Complex or the Legislator’s Quarters.

  According to the management, as a precautionary measure, five hand washing points have been set up; large quantity of hand sanitizers and thermometers for body temperature measurement have been procured to enable health officers screen members of staff and visitors for any eventuality.

  As a preventive measure, health officers have been stationed at the main gates of the Assembly Complex and the Legislator’s Quarters fully kitted with face mask and hand gloves to screen members of staff and visitors coming into both premises.

  The five hand washing points are located at the following places: Entrance of the Assembly Clinic; Chamber’s Reception; Administrative building and the main gates of both the Assembly Complex and that of Legislators’ Quarters.

 The leadership of the House also disclosed that sensitisation campaign on social distancing is on by the management team to avoid physical contact with a lot of people.

 Assembly workers are advised to imbibe the culture of frequent hand washing and also avoid overcrowded places.

  According to the management, the above measures are to complement the clean toilets and associated accessories already available for use by workers.

  The management assured members of staff of its readiness to ensure that what is needed to keep the virus at bay within the premises and the quarters will be made available, charging the workers to practice personal hygiene.
