ASSEMBLY SCREENS, CONFIRMS MEMBERS OF GOVERNING BOARDS OF DELTA STATE WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD AND DELTA STATE RURAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY 

The State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed some of the nominees for appointment into the Delta State Rural Development Agency Board and the Delta State Waste Management Board forwarded to the House by the State Governor, Senator Dr  Ifeanyi Okowa .

The Screening of  some of the nominees followed separate motions moved by the majority Leader, Hon Tim Owhefere at plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon  Sheriff Oborevwori. 

First to be screened was the nominee for appointment as Chairman of the Delta State Rural Development Agency Chief Solomon Areyenka  following a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Hon Tim Owhefere and seconded by Hon Solomon Ighrakpata.

The nominee, Chief Solomon Areyenka was introduced by the Majority Leader, Hon Tim Owhefere who said the nominee was one of the political leaders in the State and has held various positions where he served meritoriously.

He applied that the nominee should be given the privilege of taking a bow. 

The Speaker,   Rt Hon  Oborevwori granted the application and asked the nominee to take a bow. 

Chief Solomon Areyenka was confirmed by the House following a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Hon Owhefere and seconded by Hon Oboro Preyor. 

The other nominees for appointment as members of the Delta State Rural Development Agency are  Mrs Vero Obuh, Dame Roseline Akoyere, Mr Chukwueku Mathias, Elder Ben Nwadiashi and Dio Susan.

The nominees for appointment into the Delta State Waste Management Board were also screened by the House following a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Hon Festus Okoh  .

The nominees are Mr Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, Chairman, Mr Jude Onyia and Mr Daniel Ighedo as members.

The nominees were introduced by the members representing their constituencies who described them as creditable hence their nomination by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. 

The nominee for appointment as Chairman,Mr Emmanuel Chinye was asked some questions which he answered. 

Thereafter the Speaker asked the nominees to take a bow.

The nominees were confirmed following a motion moved by the Majority Leader Hon Tim Owhefere and seconded by Hon Charles Emetulu and adopted  

Also at plenary the House deferred the consideration of the report of the ad-hoc committee on the Delta State Judiciary Fund Management Financial Autonomy Bill to Tuesday  October 8,2019 .

The  House has adjourned plenary to Tuesday October 8 ,2019.
