*** Also at Tuesday’s plenary, the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori read a letter from the Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, nominating Chief Pereotu Okoye for appointment as member of the Governing Board, Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Areas Development Agency to replace late Dr Sunny Ezonfade, a member of the Agency until his demise.
*** The Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, also in a letter to the Speaker, Rt Hon Oborevwori, nominated Isaiah Bozimo, Esq, Hon Henry Sakpra and Hon Jennifer Oma Adesen, Esq for appointment as Commissioners and members of the Delta State Executive Council. They were immediately screened and confirmed by the House.
*** A Bill for a law to repeal the Delta State House of Assembly Fund Management ( Financial Autonomy) Law, 2018 and Enact the Delta State House of Assembly Fund Management ( Financial Autonomy) Law 2021 to provide for the Management of Funds Accruing to the Delta State House of Assembly, from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Delta State to ensure accountability, transparency, effective and efficient utilization of the funds and other matters connected therewith, was sent to the House by the Governor and read out by the Speaker.
*** Governor Okowa equally sent to the House a Bill for a law to repeal the Delta State Judiciary fund management (Financial Autonomy) Law, 2019 and enact the Delta State Judiciary fund Management (Financial Autonomy) Law, 2021 to provide for the Management of Fund Accruing to Delta State Judiciary from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Delta State to ensure accountability, transparency, effective and efficient utilization of the funds and for other matters connected therewith.
