The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and foremost Governorship aspirant in the State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Saturday said that God was using Deltans across the world to help him in his
Gubernatorial ambition.
While playing host to members of the DTHA staff and Friends for Sheriff 2023, who were on a solidarity visit, the Speaker who is also the National Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, described his governorship aspiration as divine.
“For want of time, I will not say much today, but I must commend all of you for this visit. I cannot thank you enough for this big show of love for me. You people have done extremely well. I am a very simple person. So many negative things have been said about me. I will not attack other Governorship aspirants because this race that I am into is divine. I believe in issue based campaign”, he stated.
The Speaker added that; “God took me from nowhere and made me the longest serving speaker in the history of the Delta State House of Assembly and the same God is using Deltans all over the place to help me in my Governorship ambition and it is going to end in praise. Everywhere is Sheriffied and Deltans will not be happy with me if I wake up one morning and say that I am not running again. The support is overwhelming”.
Earlier, the State Coordinator/Chairman of DTHA Staff and Friends For Sheriff 2023, Barrister Austin Uwasike, told the Speaker that they are committed to his Governorship ambition.
“We are working very hard everyday to ensure that you become the next governor of Delta State because you are a good man. We are deeply dedicated to your Governorship ambition. We are with you once again, to reaffirm our unwavering support for you. We are with you all the way”, he said.
